UHH soccer women win, men lose
It what’s become a trend for UH-Hilo soccer, the women have a fighting chance at victory while it’s a struggle for the men.
On Monday, the Vulcan women beat Chaminade 3-1 in a nonconference match at Saint Louis field on Oahu.
Jamie Salas, Carlie Reader, and Callye Lahmann scored for the Vuls (2-0).
UHH had 17 shots, including 13 on goal. Vul goalie Jenna Hufford had three saves, and Gabriella Barin had two.

Last season, UHH lost three straight, beat the Silverswords 2-1 in OT, lost three in a row, tied Hawaii Pacific 2-2, and later lost eight straight during a 1-14-2 season.
